Simplifying your second life
Jul 15th, 2007 by Hans De Keulenaer
The web is like a time machine that warps you forward. Suddenly, your morning, afternoon or evening is gone, and you wonder where it went. There are so many distractions for the social media marketeer and so many communities to participate in. But social media tools only work under following conditions:
- Regular use (several times per week)
- Full integration in your marketing activities
- Joint effort with colleagues & close partners
So we decided to simplify our second business life, and here’s our selection of tools:
- Google Reader as aggregator - the obvious choice.
- Diigo for social bookmarking. Among the 150+ social bookmarking tools, the choice is far from obvious. Diigo is however amazing in its ease of use, its combination of bookmarking with social annotation and its facility to create groups. Visit our marketing hub on Diigo.
- StumbleUpon - a wonderful tool for targeted exploration of the internet. After all, we only know what we know.
- FeedBurner in combination with AddThis for blog promotion
- Squidoo, a highly innovative tool to build lenses and streamline your internet presence. For example our Ultimate Marketing lens.
Many other tools didn’t make out shortlist, but well worth your consideration: blinklist, blogpulse, digg, mybloglog, netscape, reddit, simpy, technorati, twitter
